Trip Details
What to Expect on the Day
On the morning of your tour we will meet in the designated location at Makena or Olowalu. After signing the waiver document we’ll get you set up with a life jacket, paddle, kayak, snorkel, mask, fins and dry bag.
Before we hit the water we’ll start with a brief on land tutorial which will take you through the basics of kayaking, some pointers on paddling technique, rules and regulations, and a rough plan of our itinerary for the morning. We should be heading into the water around 7:45am.

Your Itinerary at Your Pace
Whether you want to take things easy or you’re an experienced kayaker then we can accommodate you. You can work on your paddling skills, or spend your time cruising around looking for wildlife. And if you’d like to snorkel then we can do that too!

Search for Whales or Turtles
From mid-December to mid-April there are north pacific humpback whales visiting Maui so we can paddle out to the channel to see if we can spot some. Or if you’re here from April to December then we’ll introduce you to our local green sea turtles who live here year round!

The Best Snorkeling Spots
The key to great snorkeling is knowing the best spots – we’ll can take you to some great spots we know, away from the crowds. We’ll provide the fins, masks and snorkels and Hawaii will provide the sea life!
Respecting our Ocean Friends
We can’t guarantee what you’ll see on the day but you might spot some local residents like green sea turtles, eels, octopus, triggerfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish, urchins and rays. Keep your eyes peeled for the famous Humuhumunukunukuapua’a fish (we just call it humuhumu for short!). We respect all wild animals which means we don’t touch or annoy them during our tours.
Whales are generally visiting Maui from April to December. Our kayak tours will get you up nice and close to them but please note that we are required by law to stay 100 yards away at all times.
Green Paddling | Blue Water
Green Paddling Blue Water represents our core values of Sustainable Tourism and Education. We aim to operate our business in a way that ‘leaves no trace’ on the environment. On our tours we promote the use of sun protective clothing and hats to minimize the use of sunscreen which can have a damaging effect on our reefs. Please keep this in mind when preparing for your tour and if you must use sunscreen please apply it before you arrive so it has sufficient time to soak into your skin.
