Aloha Kayaks Maui provides clients with the most “hands-off, hands-on” tour experiences on island. In an attempt to operate as one with the environment, we practice safe and sustainable techniques on land and water before, during, and after our tours. We use non-motorized boats, reusable water bottles, drop our anchors in the sand, and clean our gear in earth friendly products to educate guests on how to enjoy the ocean in a way that Leaves No Trace. We do not drop our anchors on the reef, feed fish, or pull marine life off the floor of the ocean for “show and tell”. After a morning on the water with Aloha Kayaks Maui our clients will have a better understanding and appreciation of proper ocean etiquette and enhanced kayaking skills!
As guides who work on the water daily, we find quality sun clothing, sunglasses, and hats offer great protection form the sun and do minimal harm to the living reef. Check out our merchandise page and have your Green Paddling Blue Water gear waiting for you upon your morning check-in.
To minimize human impact on Maui’s fragile ecosystems, Aloha Kayaks Maui educates our clients on the proper ways of enjoying our abundant resources. Since Hawaii is a global destination for ocean activities, we feel the core of a sustainable industry is hands-on education. A key part of sustainable tourism is making sure that future generations can enjoy the same, or even healthier, ecosystem that we enjoy today. Therefore, with every adult ticket purchased, we offer a 40% discount for kids aged 5-9.
Scientists report up to 5,000 tons of sunscreen per year are washed off into the ocean! Check out this link about sunscreens.
Aloha Kayaks Maui encourages our guests to wear sun protection in a way that does not harm our ocean with the harsh chemicals that are known to damage Maui’s beautiful coral reefs. If sunscreen is your choice for sun protection we recommend applying sunscreen immediately before leaving your hotel so the oils absorb into your skin and are less likely to wash off into the ocean.
